Local Stylist Hosts Fashion Show in Baton Rouge
The Power of Women Fashion Show, organized by The Creative Fashion Collective, is a prestigious annual event that celebrates creativity and talent in the fashion and creative arts industry. With its incredible success in the past two editions, the show is starting to become a cornerstone of Baton Rouge's cultural landscape.
The inaugural show was held on May 28, 2021, at the Shaw Center of the Arts in Downtown Baton Rouge, and proved to be a tremendous success for the debut of Nina Ross, and her team of stylists, brand ambassadors, and models. Presenters included Mayor President Sharon Weston-Broome, LaTangela Fay Sherman of Max 94.1 and Beauty Mogul Britni Ricard, CEO of Cota Skincare.
Vol. II of The Power of Women Fashion Show, held on July 29, 2022, at Rhorer Plaza in Downtown Baton Rouge, surpassed all expectations, igniting the city with a mesmerizing spectacle. Building on the success of its inaugural edition, this year's show went above and beyond the astonishment of Vol. I. With an electrifying mix of fire dancers and spectacular fireworks lighting up the night sky, the atmosphere crackled with excitement. The stage came alive with captivating skit performances, leaving the crowd enthralled and cheering in joy. As the beats of music echoed through the plaza, the audience danced with exhilaration, celebrating the power and creativity of women in fashion and design. Presenters included Gary Chambers, Comedian Sebastian "C-Bazz" Fort and radio personality Nina The Emcee.
The next event is slated to take place on March 16, 2024, and it promises to be yet another inspiring and memorable occasion that will leave a lasting impact on the City of Baton Rouge.

The Creative Fashion Collective
Nina is also the President and Chairwoman of the Board for The Creative Fashion Collective, a newly designated 501(c)3 organization dedicated to fostering creativity in fashion and empowering talented individuals from all walks of life. The Creative Fashion Collective now operates the show on Nina’s behalf, as it partners with other agencies nationwide such as The Boys and Girls Club of Metro Louisiana.
Her core concern is for diversity among women in business as well as diversity among women in fashion. Through the mission of the Creative Fashion Collective, Nina is able to extend this vision of diversity to include all who are creatives, freelancers, or otherwise involved in the fashion industry.
The organization aims to make an impact in Baton Rouge, and ultimately throughout Louisiana, in several ways which include:

Provide resources and education to aspiring fashion professionals who may not have access to the information they need to succeed. This can include workshops, seminars, and mentorship programs.

Create opportunities for aspiring fashion professionals to showcase their talents through events such as The Power of Women Fashion Show.

Advocate for inclusivity and diversity in the fashion industry for all regardless of shape, size, ethnicity or gender.

Work to increase the number of times the community dollar circulates within the community by partnering with local business and utilizing city owned venues and cultural infrastructures.
